About
Jane Howard is a teacher, naturalist guide, artist, mother, entrepreneur, and adventurer known for gravitating to and living on islands. She earned her nickname Island Jane while pioneering ecotourism in the San Juan Islands.
Jane facilitated science challenges for youth in and on the water in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and she designed place-based curricula and conducted hands-on learning experiences for students on the Big Island of Hawaii. Lured back to the Pacific Northwest, Jane now finds her happy place on a tiny private island in South Puget Sound, Washington.
In 2020, Jane co-created Girls on the Go Destinations, and she founded Islandjane Journeys in 2024. Jane is a Master Educator and a Certified Interpretive Naturalist Guide.
