This book highlights a summer of Flying Jewels, otherwise known as Hummingbirds, who occupied the Hulsey homeplace. Most photographs were taken through the windows of our home using a Nikon D90, which resulted in unusual crispness or clarity of the photo considering the situation under which the photos were taken. As one can tell, this is probably my most favorite bird! You just got to love a Hummer!

Dr. Hulsey was born and reared in Lavonia, Georgia. She married her high school sweetheart Kenneth Hulsey in 1963. She earned her doctorate from the University of Georgia and spent 30 years in the field of Technical Education. Since retiring from her positon as a Technical College President, they have returned to their hometown of Lavonia. Dr. Hulsey is active in community volunteer work and in her spare time she enjoys photography and gardening. She says, "Publishing books on Blurb.com is fun and it's exciting to see your photographs published even if they are of amateur status. " My books are books of love - for people, my community, and my family.
