    About the Book

    Edit

Callum Jackson is no hero—just an ordinary Glaswegian, feeling burnt out, and quietly struggling to get by. When a letter arrives and a dream stirs memories of a pilgrimage to Iona, he’s drawn to walking the Camino de Santiago in search of meaning, healing, and something he can’t yet name. With his Gran's blessing, he walks, old wounds begin to soften, and a slow-burning romance unfolds—unexpected, tender, and deeply human. Each step reawakens feelings long buried, each encounter becomes a mirror, and the road itself begins to feel alive. Based on a true story, this modern tale celebrates second chances, ancestral echoes, and the mysterious grace of a path that dares to love us back.

    Jamie Wallace
    Scotland

Jamie Wallace is an occasional writer of poems and prose brought up in a place steeped in monastic echoes, folklore, and quiet resilience. With a background in Scotland’s languages, travel and heritage activism, Jamie’s work blends the everyday with the mythic, drawing inspiration from his long-distance walking endeavours, local history knowledge, and the transformative power of pilgrimage. In 2018, Jamie walked over 500 miles on the Camino de Santiago, receiving two Compostellas for walking the French Way and then the English Way. Those walks—marked by blisters, blessings, and a kiss in a taxi—became the heartbeat of his creative practice featuring Callum Jackson. Jamie is known for his playful banter, cultural teaching through humour, and a deep commitment to preserving local heritage. Whether coaching others, penning poems, or writing about his walking adventures, his work invites readers to see the sacred in the ordinary—and to walk their own path with courage and curiosity.
