      About the Ebook

      Edit

This is the story of a child growing up in war-torn Northern Ireland; of a musician who migrated to the United States with only $50 and a guitar; of a man who braved the bridges of New York City and the collapse of the Twin Towers. This is the story of Patrick O'Kane.

From the turbulent streets of Troubles-era Derry to the highest barrels of the George Washington Bridge, the poems of Troubles explore a daughter's interpretations of a father's life that has been anything but ordinary.

In the fall, she is excited to join The New School’s Creative Writing MFA program with dual concentrations in Poetry and Writing for Children & Young Adults. She has previously been interviewed in For the Punks magazine and featured in MNSTRM Media’s March 2020 issue for her work in the music industry, and her poetry has appeared in Pinnacle Anthology in 2019 and will be published in Willard & Maple, Sage Soup, and the Bryant Literary Review later this year. Alexa is also excited to premiere her debut nonfiction poetry collection, Troubles, in Spring 2021.
