About

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a double major in History and Theater Arts. After school I enlisted in the Air Force. During my 6-year tour I achieved the rank of E-5, lived in Germany for 3 1/2 years, and worked as a PJ specialist (photojournalist) in the European theater. After the service I began working for the Chicago Tribune, first as a photojournalist and eventually specializing, during my 36-year career, as a feature and studio photographer for the newspaper. I traveled extensively throughout the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia during my career. I retired in 2015, but I continue to be an active photographer. I am married and have two grown sons.
In addition, I have been writing poetry for over twenty years. I have had work appear in multiple small publications including “Father Gander Rhymes and Other Poems – 2” and “The Comstock Review”.
