Wilfried Schaus-Sahm
Wilfried Schaus-Sahm, born in Aachen in 1949, studied German, philosophy, and art history in Aachen and Freiburg, works as an artist, concert promoter, curator, and author in Duisburg. He founded and organized several music festivals and concert series as artistic director, including the international Traumzeit Festival in Duisburg. Schaus-Sahm has distinguished himself in solo exhibitions as a painter, graphic artist, and photographer. In 2012, he developed the concept for the Duisburg Mercator Matinees, whose program he has curated ever since.
In 2023, the City of Duisburg awarded him the "Mercator Badge of Honor" for his services to culture, science, and education.
Recent publications include the novels "We Should Ask Ferrucci" and "Denner," the short story collection "The Eye Plague," the concert anecdotes "Grappellis Violin Case," and the poetry collection "Questions to Science."
