    About the Book

    Edit

Onirika is a collection of surrealistic drawings. Ricardo Jabardo traces the fine line that divides the territory where lucidity intersects with irrationality.
It's a book that reminds us of artists such as Max Ernst and Rene Magritte among others.
His drawings often employ tricks of size, objects, characters and perception, to resolve a visual humor while exposing a deeper idea.
His drawings are intense, allegorical, and in some way express a literary construction that reminds us of dreams dreamt under a noonday desert sun.
The Illustrations in this book awaken in the observer an instant emotion and thoughts related to our human condition and the absurdity of instants in everyday life. This interesting, deliberately challenging, and unusually drawn book,
portrays scenes where things are, well, not quite wrong. We're publishing this book because Jabardo has always seemed to us as one of the most genuine, inventive, and ingenious artists working in Atlanta today.

    Ricardo Jabardo
    Atlanta, GA, USA

Ricardo Jabardo is an allegoric artist, a surreal humorist and a digital performer. In his art he has used a variety of techniques, including collage and digital media, to express intense symbolic messages for many years. His graphic works include scenic situations representing the drama and the contradiction of life. They are like a play in which the actors and characters have escaped in search of their roles. Jabardo is a natural impulse translator. In his work his style is continuously changing as his concepts evolve. Jabardo’s work has spanned from the creation of corporate identities, illustrations and 3D Animations for TV-programs and commercials to animated short films exhibited in festivals in Europe and North and South America, all the way to paintings shown in galleries in and around Atlanta. Born in Venezuela. He received his Masters in Fine Arts in 1994 from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1999 he moved to Georgia,USA
