This book contains three short stories inspired by the author’s travels, conversations, and life in Turkey, as well as a brief selection of photographs from his travels there. In Yabancı [ Foreigner ] Extranjero, internationally published author Santiago Vaquera-Vásquez presents stories about people lost in place, people who are foreigners wherever they are, Latinos and Latinas who seek connections, belonging, and a sense of self in an other country. This book is also a companion to another book where the photos are the central element, here it is the stories that are highlighted.
