    About the Book

    Edit

Virginia Morgan Sennott is the author of this memoir and the matriarch of a clan of Morgans and Sennotts of Greater Boston which stretches to many corners of New England and beyond. Virginia, or Ginny, as she’s called, is a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt to this sprawling Irish-American family. As the last of her generation on both the Morgan and Sennott sides, she has also become a keeper of the flame of the living memories for these families. She believes in sharing the stories that help them all understand who they are and where they come from. Ginny is very much like a mother to dozens of nieces and nephews and to their children and grandchildren. This book is written for all of them, and for future generations so they can know the rich family history and its colorful cast of characters that came before them. As a mother who advocated for her children through love and patience, as a widow who successfully leaned into a professional life as a business woman, as a person of deep faith and a gifted storyteller, this book offers Ginny’s unique wisdom and humor about family, faith and love, and especially the importance of laughter and preserving friendships, to a wider audience.

Charles Morgan Sennott is the author’s youngest son, her father’s namesake and a longtime journalist, author and documentary filmmaker. He spent the better part of 2018 working with the author on the writing of this book.
