About the Book
This book describes my family's visit to Japan in May-June of 2018. We went to see and participate in an exhibit of my father, George Butler's photographs taken in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan in 1951. We visited many sites he photographed and met with local historians and subjects of the photographs. Much of the area he photographed was devastated in the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami, making this exhibit all the more important to people of the region. This is a followup to Journey to Miyagi Prefecture from 2014, also available on this site.
