    About the Book

    Edit

Poet, fine artist, philosopher, teacher and raconteur, James Michael Kelley, offers a selection of personal reminiscences, sometimes deeply personal, always provocative, dealing with a wide range of human experience and emotions. Long-time friend of the poet, photographer David Halpern, provides the introduction and punctuates the collection with images that reflect a frequent similarity in their vision. Jim Kelley was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma in 1934, raised on oil leases and ranchlands, educated through apprenticeship in Native American arts and crafts. He received a BFA degree from Oklahoma State University and a MA from the University of Tulsa. He has been a teacher of art on the college level, a sculptor, painter, poet and printmaker. Jim has lived a life of participation in multiple artistic disciplines and excelled in all of them.
