    About the Book

    Edit

This is a story of travel, told in 251 full color photographs and 240 pages. Tourism in the true sense of the word, getting in the car and going on tour. Our tour took us from Vancouver to Hope, where we joined perhaps the most famous highway in BC, the Caribou Wagon Road, Highway 97. At Prince George we left 97 and turned west on Highway 16 to Smithers, the infamous so-called "Highway of Tears." West of Smithers, at Kitwanga, we turned north on Highway 37, known in part as the Stewart-Cassiar Highway. A short trip on Highway 37A, arguably the most scenic stretch of road in Canada, took us to Stewart BC, and Hyder, Alaska. Then back out to 37 at Meziadin Junction, and north to the Alaska Highway a few kilometers west of Watson Lake.

From Watson Lake, we drove through Fort Nelson and Fort St. John and then on to Dawson Creek, Grande Prairie, and Edmonton. We visited Drumheller and then Calgary. Finally a two-day drive back to the left coast.

The purpose of any book is surely to give the reader access. Here I am giving you access to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. But it is not inaccessible to anyone with a car, bicycle, or bus ticket. Or for that matter, a pair of good walking shoes. This book is just intended to wet your appetite for a closer, more personal look at the place we call British Columbia

    Agassiz British Columbia (BC), Canada

Hi. I'm Larry Christopher. I am now 75 years old, and have been taking pictures most of my life. I come from a family of photographers, both my Dad and my brother having great influence on me. I live near fabulous Agassiz British Columbia where one learns to take pictures outdoors even on rainy days. Members of my family include my son and his wife Rob and Liz, and my dayghter Teresa. Thanks to them I also have two wonderful grandchildren Aidan and Adam, and a good friend Desirae. My wife Carol has been a great help and partner to me since 1965. I use Leica amd Nikon equipment, I no longer use film as much, but I will continue to use it for as long as it (and I) last. Long live the crow. Contact Curlin008@mail.com.
