About the Book
This is a land of contrasts: the perfect blend of time-honored traditions with the techno-craze of the twenty-first century, a unique mix of Communist doctrine with government-endorsed transition to a market economy, and the magnificent geographical diversity from north to south and areas inland.
Whether you are here for its stunning natural landscapes, its flavorful cuisine, its sinfully cheap shopping, or a taste of its tumultuous past, you will find Vietnam's residents to be universally welcoming, generous, and highly cultured.
About the Creator
Howe Sim is a prolific travel photographer whose work has taken him to every continent, all 193 UN member nations, and a total of 252 TCC countries & territories. His subjects are as eclectic as his destinations: from Rwanda’s endangered mountain gorillas to Greenland’s monolithic icebergs; from the bizarre rituals of Benin’s annual voodoo festival to the cultural treasures of "red zone” countries such as Somalia, North Korea, and Afghanistan. He has endured everything from the oppressive heat of California's Death Valley and Ethiopia's Danakil Depression, to the frigid conditions of Earth's northern and southern polar regions. During the course of his travels, he has been charged by a bull elephant, entered active war zones, been detained by police for interrogation, dodged an attempted kidnapping, and even stared down the barrel of a Russian assault rifle.
