    Edit

Danica is on her second journey around the world, but this time she has a partner to contend with. Soon after they leave he turns nasty, threatening to leave her behind in London. In Amsterdam he gets her deliberately lost while negotiating canals on an old Dutch bicycle. She struggles with an insufficient map getting him lost in Toulouse in a camper-van that will not fit down the back streets. He decides to drive for three days solid from Bavaria to Portugal then kicks her out of the camper in France. Forcibly walked to a Versailles train station, she sits in a daze on the train to Paris. Where will she stay? What should she do? With broken dreams, little money, no job to go back to, and her possessions scattered over Western Australia, can she pick up her life again?

    Dr Danica-Lea Larcombe
    Perth, WA, Australia

Danica-Lea Larcombe is a writer, environmental health professional, and passionate advocate for slow, soulful living. Based in Western Australia, she draws daily inspiration from nature, seasonal rhythms, and the beauty of simple, nourishing food. Her lifelong love of cooking, combined with personal experiences of food sensitivities and gut health, led her to explore the Mediterranean way of eating — vibrant, flavourful, and deeply connected to place. The Ibiza Diet is her debut cookbook, blending recipes, lifestyle reflections, and soulful quotes into a book that feels as much like a companion as it does a kitchen guide. Beyond the recipes, she invites readers to rediscover joy at the table, to savour every bite, and to bring a little Ibiza sunshine into everyday life. When she isn’t writing or cooking, Danica-Lea can be found exploring Western Australia’s coastline, painting, and tending to her love of gardens and wild places.
