    About the Book

    Edit

Michael Dulics has lived most of his life in Yugoslavia where he was born. His art training there led him to a career of art teaching, newspaper graphic work and gallery exhibitions. In 1960 Mr. Dulics made Australia his home and during 1961 was at the national Gallery in Melbourne. He moved to Townsville early in 1963 and has been associated with the art society there since his arrival. 1964 is the one hundredth anniversary of the founding of Townsville and many of the buildings of the city have a character typical of a period of architecture more flamboyant than that of the present day. These drawings of the city combine the refreshing observations of a newcomer to the community with a representation of the well-known facades. This 2nd edition of a letter from the north marks the 50th anniversary of the first publication in 1964.
