    About the Book

    Edit

Creeks and Peaks features breathtaking full-colour photographs of some of the flowing waters, at the base of a number of grand peaks, in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Take a journey through these areas where you are led to some of the off beaten paths that follow the grandeur, flow, and light that exists in these special places.

Lawrence (Lars) Steinke illuminates these locations with the use of light and form through a camera lense. With this collection of photographs he hopes to show you places and features that are often not seen and more rarely photographed.

    Lawrence Steinke
    Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

Lawrence (Lars) Steinke was born on Mile 0 of the Alaska Highway and has been exploring the wilds of western Canada ever since. Many of his formative years were spent in Northern British Columbia in the Mackenzie area before living on the edge of Jasper National Park in Hinton Alberta. A short stint was spent out east while attending Queen's University but he was lured back to the west by the call of the Rockies. He moved to Lethbridge to complete his studies at the University of Lethbridge where he now resides. Living in Lethbridge has given Lars the opportunity to explore the Canadian Rockies on a regular basis. A majority of that time is spent photographing Southern Alberta and the wilds of Waterton National Park. While Waterton provides an opportunity to exercise his photography on a regular basis, Banff, Jasper, and Northern BC are visited and explored, as is most of Western Canada. In the past few years travel has taken him to Africa, Europe, the Carribean, S. America and China
