About the Book
This book is one in a series depicting our photographic exploration of these spectacular islands. An ongoing fascination with the watercolors of nature and their interaction with landscapes around us are a driving force in our photography.
The photographs of Hawaii - The Big Island, were captured during the late summer and early fall. Adequate coverage of the Big Island requires more than one volume. This book is the first of a multi-volume set.
This book provides a travel guide to some of the best landscape, seascape, cultural, historical, and artistic photo locations on the Big Island. These locations offer almost endless opportunities to create great photographic images. We also provide detailed information and tips on photo techniques, camera settings, and framing/composition.
The book is intended to be useful to multiple audiences - tourists wanting to make the most of the time available to them when visiting the island, photographers and artists wanting to identify the best locations to create great images, and those wanting to continuously improve their photography.
