    About the Book

    Edit

“One School, One Voice, One World” is the title of the initiative undertaken by the staff and students of Milton District High School in Milton, Ontario. Using the study of the Holocaust as a starting point, the school has engaged the study of diversity and tolerance, and attempted to bring this learning into every aspect of school life. New curriculum has been written, students have visited tolerance centres in Los Angles, New York , Washington D.C. and Montreal, and countless speakers have visited classes in the past four years. Students have put this learning into practice by working in various cultures quite different from their home environment…by working on a school building project in Ghana, helping reconstruction in New Orleans and West Virginia, working on a project in Kenya, and helping Habitat for Humanity in several locations. This book is an attempt to capture the core values of this emphasis by examining the most challenging and difficult location of all…Auschwitz.
