Dr. Arlene Dowdy is a Carolina Tar Heel graduate of 1985 (with the Duke Blue Devils her greatest rival). She credits her parents, her faith in God, more than 27 years as an educator, and international travel for her knowledge and understanding of life, people and our sometimes scary world. Writing, directing and producing plays has been a hobby and passion of Dr. Dowdy since she was a teenager! She has never really understood how a person can be bored, because ideas and stories are continually running around in her head! She brings these stories to paper, her family and friends, then to the stage, a slide presentation or a book. Her writing entertains, inspires, and encourages people of all ages.
