My name is Briana and I am eleven years old and I am in the sixth grade. I am a student at W. R. Thomas Middle school and I am in the Cambridge Magnet program. This is my first year at this school and it's been great so far even though I have to study a lot and do a lot of homework. We have some very good teachers who make learning fun, I never thought that I would write a book, but I did. My horse, Truly, had skin cancer and I wanted to treat this so I asked a friend of ours, Erika, who is more like an aunt then just a family friend, to help me do this. It was helpful that she is also a critical care nurse. This began my year long project to cure Truly of her cancers. Every aspect of Truly's care was carefully documented and photographed as we worked together. I decided to make this my summer project, my goal was to successfully treat Truly's cancers and to write a book about our experiences. I want to be a dermatologist just like my mom so taking care of Truly was important.
