    About the Book

Most people dream about the chance to go back, to start over, but what if one day you woke up and discovered that the life you grew to love was nothing more than a chapter in a life you never knew existed? One that threw you in the midst of a war you started long ago.

Emma Botwin (West) seems to have it all; a good job, a nice apartment, a best friend and a family who loves her. Factors which make up a well balanced life, one she seems content with. For Emma, life is about trying to survive regardless of what comes your way. A motto that is tested as she unexpectedly finds herself without a job and an apartment that has been broken into. Left to pick up the pieces, she discovers an object left behind; a beautifully crafted music box. One that holds mystery and power as she’s drawn towards it, finding herself trapped in a memory from long ago. A memory that leaves her shaken as she comes to in a world that seems different from the one she left.

As the mystery behind the music box begins to unfold, Emma’s life unravels and her need to discover the truth becomes an obsession. One that nearly brings her face to face with death once more. Seeking safety, Emma turns to her best friend Zander to help her discover the truth behind a box that holds the power to transport her into memories that aren't her own. An act that quickly turns sour as they are both transported to the last place they’d expect; the future.

Stuck in a time not of their own, Zander and Emma are ultimately imprisoned in a base obsessed with uncovering a truth that lies deep within Emma's memories. A truth that shifts her world completely and one she comes face to face with as she is reunited with the boy from her memories, Evan. As the hunt proceeds, Emma struggles with the reality that nothing is as it seems, with time coming to terms with the truth and secrets that led up to the war. A war that cost her, her family and one that she, Evan and Zander would fight till the end. All leading up to a sacrifice which must be made once more. A sacrifice that will change their lives forever.
