About the Book
Anjalé’s work draws on botanical imagery from her LA upbringing to explore personal and universal themes. Through oil paintings featuring snakes, flowers, and shades of pink, she reimagines the Garden of Eden narrative, challenging binary notions of good and evil.
The Temptation series invites viewers to release judgment and embrace life's fullest pleasures without guilt. By portraying serpents as alluring and benevolent, Anjalé aims to reconcile with the concept of original sin and suggests that we can trust ourselves with all aspects of our being. This work is a celebration of the human experience, in all of its technicolor glory.
