About the Creator
I graduated from the National School of Art, Darlinghurst, Sydney, majoring in Illustration. I worked as a graphic designer in advertising, television, audio visual and animation in Australia and Canada. Teaching experience includes NSW TAFE, Qld. and NSW Adult Education, Canberra University and The Canberra School of Art. Photography became part of my work practice. The camera, landscape, the inclusion of drawing and watercolour pigments in the photographic image became central to my imagery. The process pushed me and my camera further and further in pursuit of new and exciting material. I started using watercolour in my photographic landscapes. Watercolour has long been a medium of choice in illustration because of its amazing diversity in application. In my Botanical work I try to exploit the spontaneity and life in watercolour and explore a compositional whole of image approach to the more traditional forms of botanical art.
