About the Book
This magazine features selected works by Dutch artist Karola Pezarro. Her art is driven by a deep sense of wonder about the fragility of life, the passage of time, memory, and the complexity of human thought. Through her work, she explores questions about what we carry with us—both visible and invisible—how our thoughts unfold, how we relate to the inner and outer world, and how we attempt to exist. She delves into these themes through embroidery, sculpture, and video.

Karola Pezarro
The Netherlands
Karola Pezarro lives and works in the Netherlands. She trained at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague. The work of Pezarro is based on a strong sense of wonder about the fragility of life, about the passage of time, about memory and the complexity of human thought. Through her art, she asks questions about what we carry with us, both visible and invisible, how our thoughts fan out, how we relate to the inner and outer world, how we try to exist. She explores these themes through embroidery, sculptures, installations and videos. With Aris de Bakker, she forms the duo Akunzo. Akunzo's work consists of ephemeral, site-specific projects. @karolapezarro @a_k_u_n_z_o
