About the Book
Constance "Tonia" Shea created art most of her adult life, right up until a month or so before her passing in 2025 at the age of 96. Initially, she worked with charcoal sketches and pastels, transitioning into oil and watercolours that resulted in her finest, mostly impressionistic creations. She was especially prolific in the 1970s in terms of both the quality and quantity of her output, generally signing her paintings with "Tonia". She exhibited her work frequently during that period and often said that she sold most of her best paintings from this period. Still, many excellent examples remained and are featured in this book. The available art was mostly photographed by her son Rick Shea in 2013. Rick curated and created this book in 2018 to present to her on the occasion of her 90th birthday. This is an updated edition, with an additional 10 pages, created shortly after Tonia's passing.
