To describe the dahlia is to metaphorically swallow a thesaurus. When I look at a dahlia, to me they are: luscious, succulent, sumptuous, lush, exquisite, vibrant, brilliant, garish, showy, luxuriant, flamboyant, colourful, gaudy, elaborate, romantic, vivid, splashy, baroque, dazzling, ornate, rich, elegant, glamourous, bejewelled, and above all, photogenic.
