About the Book
During my time in Japan I found myself drawn not to the spectacle, but to the spaces in between - the quiet gestures, the glances, the shadows cast by something unseen.
Fragments of Japan is a visual reflection on those moments:
the choreography of public life, the appreciation folded into daily rituals, and
the ways nature and stillness remain present even in the heart of the city.
In every scene, I saw lessons I didn't expect to find:
a deep care for things, rather than abundance;
a dedication to craft that made me return to photography with focus;
a balance between collective and individual that challenged my own views.
These images are not meant to explain Japan.
They are fragments - observations from a traveler moved by the beauty of attention.
