About the Book
Soft Matter is a manifesto disguised as a design book. It documents a year of material experiments, public interventions, and quiet acts of defiance—using found objects, discarded foam, and makeshift signage to question who the city is really built for.
Part field guide, part memoir, and part material archive, the book moves between personal essays, photographs, and speculative objects that inhabit the blurred edge between welcome and warning, comfort and control. Through street furniture made of waste, uninvited seating, and signage that talks back, Soft Matter explores how softness, impermanence, and care can become tools of resistance in cities hardened by policy and pavement.
This is a book about building anyway. About making the city a little more livable, even when no one asked you to. It’s for designers, artists, and anyone who has ever felt unwelcome in public space—and decided to stay anyway.
