    About the Book

    Edit

Voyages is both a visual and literary journey, loosely collaborative, between artist Ken Nahan and writer Phil Demise Smith, inspired by the spirit of Walt Whitman’s call to seek and discover. Nahan's art is composed on sanded nautical charts -- tools once used to navigate the physical world -- and now re-purposed as foundations for his drawings. Phil Demise Smith selected his prose poems from his vast body of writings and paired them with specific works by Nahan for this project. Features 20 full color images by Nahan and 10 prose poems by Phil Demise Smith.
