    About the Book

    Edit

Chitwan - Mahouts and Elephants is a gorgeous real-life photo story of the rarely seen daily teamwork of the Tiger Tops mahouts and elephants at the Chitwan National Park in Nepal.

With over 125 ‘Real . Life . Photos’ by Ju Shen Lee, the book goes beyond the readily seen extraordinary elephants, wonderful wildlife, and stunning scenery there. These unique photos of the rarely seen are a visual feast for eyes, hearts and minds.

See the large elephants gently lift their mahouts onto their backs, and nimbly walk through the forests. Hear the elephants trumpet and bellow in greeting and excitement, and rumble and growl in warning and anger. Taste the fresh elephant snacks, and cooked lentil rice dinners for the elderly elephants. Smell the tarty scent of freshly cut tall grass for feed, and fruity aroma of freshly chopped banana trees for treats. Above all, feel the visceral bond between the Tiger Tops mahouts and elephants during their quiet intense work, and their noisy comical play.
