    Ray Kirk joined the RAF and travelled across Europe fighting the Nazis war machine. He took photos of German boat captures, saw Hermann Goring's private seaplane and also helped liberate Paris.
    His squadron 2798 was the first British unit into Paris, secretly entering the city with the help of the French underground.. this is his story.

    The author Mark Andrew Kirk was born in Leicester, Kirby Muxloe to be exact. He was brought up in Wymeswold, Leicestershire by his parents Roger & Janet Kirk, where he lived a relatively stress free life, he then married Dawn in 1996. He has a thirst for Family History, Northern Soul and riding the roller coaster that is following is local Football Club, Leicester City. He also enjoys walks in the local Bradgate Park and amateur photography. During the day he works as a Network Engineer originally with Eaton & now with Park Place Technologies, some of the world's largest electronic companies & at night he is just the imbecile who cannot even load the dishwasher properly !
