    About the Book

In a labyrinthine cityscape where whimsy meets grit, "Gnomicide Methem Ride" plunges us into an uncanny reality. Once emblematic of enchantment, gnomes are reimagined as avatars of social ills—homelessness, inequality, and urban decay. This narrative jigsaw converges influences as diverse as Lester Bangs' disenchanted meeting with Lou Reed, Alan Moore's deconstructed heroes in "Watchmen," and the fantastical realism of Guillermo del Toro's "Pan's Labyrinth."
Here, the gnomes mirror our society's neglected, pushing us to question the very ideals we uphold. Unlike Hayao Miyazaki's "Spirited Away," the story invites a reckoning with a world that blurs the magical and the mundane. It challenges us: Can we confront the vulnerabilities of our heroes—real or imagined—and find a deeper kind of heroism rooted in resilience and empathy?
The narrative is amplified by an AI-enhanced visual tapestry, adding a layer of cinematic allure. Accompanying the striking images is an album that takes you on a surreal auditory trip, from lo-fi soundscapes to indie-arcade crescendos, inspired by a mosaic of artists from Hendrix to Vangelis. "You're Not Supposed to Rave So Hard" emerges as a track and a satirical caution against the perils of excess, tying back to the narrative's central themes.
By weaving social critique with mythical elements, "Gnomicide Methem Ride" is not just a story; it's an artistic symphony that provokes and inspires, asking us to see ourselves and the world differently.

The Music, Artwork & Special Effects of Sekdek compile a giant body of cross-genre multimedia content. Drawing inspiration from art history, cult films, controversial artists/musicians, and the ineffable quality of infinity and beyond. The work ranges from abstract frenetic fractured-together avant-garde graphic novel multiverses of illustrations to underground surrealist, expressionist, subversive, fantastical, phantasmagoric photography to doom noise opera to pop to experimental etc. “All washed in psychedelia, Brice Frillici's San Franciscan west-coast jams teeter the border between pop music and b-movie soundtracks” - NPR “Big hug” - Sir Olivier de Sagazan “Sekdek is the Cindy Sherman of mud” - Dan Mayer “Fantastic and a little bit gory” - High Fructose Magazine "SEKDEK are like GWAR groupies" - Rooney Van Halen
