About the Creator
Anna McGaraghan
California
Anna is a phytoplankton ecologist working in Dr. Raphael Kudela’s lab at UCSC. Her love of tiny drifters has led her on phytoplankton adventures in Maine, the Caribbean, Antarctica, Catalina Island, the Gulf of Alaska, and the California coast. She has participated in phytoplankton programming with the Exploratorium in San Francisco, and the development of the Plankton Monitoring Program with the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. She currently works closely with a phytoplankton imaging robot named Miranda.
