About the Creator
Author and Curator of The Starving Artist and One Body, My Body, No Body: An Auto-Ethnographic Investigation. Biography Ally Zlatar examines, instigates and provokes notions of the individual experience through specifically focusing on the philosophical discourse, body image and embodiment through contemporary figurative acrylic painting. She utilizes an auto-ethnographic approach to her painting with her personal narratives and experiences guiding her exploration of contemporary discourse. Zlatar acknowledges power within the un-well body and believes there is tremendous value and potency by examining these subjects through the contemporary art lens. Proceeds from publications go towards Ally Zlatar's "The Starving Artist" initiative which offers financial assistance for eating disorder in-patient treatment.
