    About the Book

    Edit

etc. is a bi-annual periodical of architectural stories that expose, document and forewarns of the manic space that is Architecture for the emerging architect from emerging architects. It interrogates the role of a generation dealing with hyper-realistic renders and arguments of plausibility while questioning the politics and intentions of actions examined for leniency towards the past and the unreal. etc. puts forward an intentionally immature commentary on architecture's issues, providing judgment on the disingenuous inexactitudes that pollute the space.

etc. is used as an indication for architectural trajectories too cliched and tedious to provide in their entirety. It gives responsibility to the audience to read between the lines of the past and present and realise future connotations. It uses anachronistic storytelling and graphics to link current issues across periods and engage a broader public to bring forth the topics of our time. It is a call to awareness, encouragement for all to claim ownership of their cities and the architecture it dictates. etc. is an independent, student-led project produced by ten peers embarking on their Masters Studies at the University of Technology, Sydney.

etc. magazine: issue 1 explores tokenism in architecture through key topics such as the role of women, heritage, sustainability and social infastructure.

etc. is a collective currently undertaking their Masters in Architecture at the University of Technology, Sydney. etc. has elected to put forward a personal mission statement that separates our editorial teams' ambitions from current publications. It chooses to be produced by peers intimately aware of issues involved in the initial stages of a career in architecture, ensuring that the content refuses to become irrelevant. Thus we pledge that each team member is to be involved in ten issues that we put forward over five years, after which they shall nominate someone to take over their position. Through this, we intend to ensure that our content doesn't become outdated, irrelevant, foolish etc.
