About the Book
Many of the poems in this book are based in my remembrances of youth and my deep respect of nature. The feel of the Sun's heat on my shoulders as a boy, walking to the town market to buy a cold soda or the fragrant organic smells filling the air from a freshly swathed hay field are examples of sensory memories that help me define and appreciate my life.

Jim grew up in South Central Kansas, spending much of his time on the family farm. There he developed a strong appreciation for the bond of Man and Nature. He uses his experience on the farm to write vivid sensory descriptions in many of his poems. Currently, Jim lives in Wichita Kansas with his wife and three daughters. A portion of his time is spent managing a large undeveloped property which allows him to enjoy the natural surroundings and be inspired to write about his love for nature.
