About the Book
I was a California State Park Ranger for 35 years. I was fortunate to spend 31 years at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve in Carmel California. Landscape artist Francis McComas called Point Lobos "the greatest meeting of land and water in the world". After one of my many photo adventures I would return home to work on the images. One day my wife was watching and said that image would look really nice in back and white. She was right! I spent considerable time going through my files selecting more images. This collection was predominantly taken at Point Lobos. Other images are from nearby areas I like to hike with my camera.

Carmel, California
I was a California State Park Ranger for 35 years. I spent 31 years at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve in Carmel, California. The photographs in my collections were taken over an almost 40 year period. I started with a Nikon camera and Kodachrome 64. In the early 2000's I switched to Nikon digital and have been happy ever since. Locations for my adventures include Point Lobos, Monterey Peninsula, Carmel Valley, and Big Sur, Moss Landing, and various spur of the moment locals when the a subject presents itself. I retired from state parks at the end of December 2011 and now I have even more time to go and play at Point Lobos, my favorite place on Earth.
