Vulnerable and authentic are words that come to mind when I reflect on Jim’s work. As I look at the portraits I find myself guilty. Yes, guilty of making assumptions. Of blinking and assuming I know someone because I’ve seen them. Really.

Do I really see the unique “them” hidden under layers of clothes and safety masks? Jim’s work reminds me of the sacred story within each human being and it reminds me of how valuable every human being is. His photographs unmask the truth within his subjects. Each human being, body unique, each story absolutely captivating.

Jim’s photography, his editorial vantage point reminds us that our life experiences, beliefs and fears are written on our hearts, souls and minds. Thank you Jim- for reminding me that we are all much more than we appear. You have captured the beauty of the human spirit.
